2022 Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational - Royal Melbourne - September

The Lexus Golf of Blackburn Invitational was held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club and after a poor forecast we were lucky to get away with a relatively good day for golf.

Scoring is always tough on the championship layout and in the end, only 0.12 of a shot separated the top two teams. The third placed team of Swee Chow, Dennis Tan, Benson Ong and David Lee had a slow start and were actually one over par after five holes. Thankfully three birdies quickly followed and when they finished with an eagle on their last hole they managed to sneak into third place with nett 58.25. The runners up had the win in their sights after playing some great golf to be three under par with just one hole left, but unfortunately they finished with a bogey to drop them out of first place with nett 57.37. Commiserations to Andri Gunawan, Leon Christoforou, Ann Maudsley & Karen Ding. The winners didn't have it all their own way and in fact started with a bogey on their very first hole. However, eight birdies later, including a birdie, birdie finish meant they would take out top spot by the barest of margins with nett 57.25.
