2022 ANZ Melbourne Golf Day - The Metropolitan Golf Club

The ANZ Melbourne Golf Day took place at The Metropolitan Golf Club on a cool, but mostly dry day. The course was in great condition and three teams would go on to shoot fantastic rounds of 64!

It was extremely close for third place with four teams within 0.12 of a shot. In the end a count back was required when two teams finished on 57.25. The lucky winners of the count back were Tim Wood, Andrew Kennedy, Richard Homberger & Mitchell Harris who started with three straight birdies and finished with three straight birdies to keep others at bay. Less than a shot ahead with nett 56.5 were the runners up of Daniel Bergamin, Anthony Young, Liam Cooke and Garrick Rollason. They had a great start and were four under through six holes. Six pars in a row slowed their momentum but they were able to rattle off four more birdies before the finish to shoot the equal lowest score of the day. Last year's defending champions had a target on their back but they took it in their stride to take out the win again with nett 55.25. They had an impressive start to be five under through five holes, but that was followed by seven pars in a row before they found birdies on their last two holes to sneak over the line. Congratulations Ben Moceiwai (18), John McDonough (21), Billy Dwyer (19) & James Vicary (12).
