2019 Lexus of Brisbane Group Golf Invitational - Thursday

The second of three Lexus of Brisbane Group Golf Invitationals took place under beautiful but windy conditions. A ten under score was the mark set the previous day and only time would tell if that could be matched or beaten.  Exactly 100 guests were on hand to enjoy the 18 holes or beginner golf lessons and all managed to 'experience amazing' on behalf of the Lexus of Brisbane Group.

In the end, the winning score was just 0.25 of a shot better than the previous day and again ten under was shot by a team even though conditions were slightly more difficult with the wind. In third place with a nett 56.875 was the team of Barry Henningsen, Suzanne Henningsen, Rick Legovic & Paul Betteridge who had a fun filled round with a host of birdies and a couple of bogeys on their way to a 69.  Just 0.125 ahead with nett 56.75 were our second placed team of Andrew Cary, Fiona Cary, Mark Mortimore & Bev Mortimore. They started extremely well to be four under after five holes but that was spoilt by their only bogey of the day a few holes later. However, four more birdies over their closing holes managed to lift them into second place. The winners started the day in the best way possible with five straight birdies! They then managed another five birdies over their remaining holes to finish more than two shots clear of the field with 54.375. Congratulations to Shannon Moore (4), Jason Gibson (11), David Fuge (21) & Rodney Rose (25).

The charity event on course raised $1,925 for Hear & Say and thanks to one of the winners donating their prize back, we raised another $350 at the post golf function- thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 2nd - see below for a collection of shots (including our winners smash factor of 1.54!).

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Casey Lee & Stella Yoo, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
