2019 Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational - Royal Canberra Golf Club

The Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational was held at Royal Canberra Golf Club with the Brindabella course in play. A record 122 golfers played the 18 hole event and with perfect conditions a good score was certainly on the cards.  

One team managed to dominate the live scoring devices with an incredible score of 14 under par, but when handicaps were taken into account things became very close. In third place with a nett 54.875 was the team of John Chaloner, Scott Chaloner, Kate Chaloner & David Figueiredo who had a fun filled round with one eagle, six birdies and a lone bogey on their way to a 65.  Some 2.5 shots ahead in second place were Anthony Stewart, Zac Beeten, Mick Perre & Trent Hill who started well with a birdie and eagle in their first four holes. Things slowed a little after that until that had a string of five birdies in a row to rush up the leaderboard and finish with a nett 52.375. The winners started the day with a simple par and that did little to stir their confidence for what lay ahead - a staggering twelve birdies and and eagle meant they signed for a 58 and nett 51.375. Congratulations to Jake Nagle (+2), Peter Murrell (18), Ben Johnston (19) & Ben Brown (18).

The charity event on course raised in excess of $2,000 for the Ronald McDonald House, Canberra. Thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 15th - see below for a collection of shots (including our winners smash factor of 1.51!).

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Andrew McCormack, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
