2019 Lexus of Adelaide Golf Invitational - Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The Lexus of Adelaide Golf Invitational starts a massive year of golf for Lexus owners, with 35 events taking place around the country. Royal Adelaide Golf Club was the host venue and was in typically fantastic condition for the event. A record 160 guests enjoyed the day, whether it be playing golf, taking part in the beginner lessons or just joining us for lunch.
Scoring around one of the top ten layouts in the country is always challenging. That said, one team clearly holed more putts than the rest of the field! In third place with a nett 55.833 was the three ball team of Geoffrey Webster, Wayne Merrett & Frank Romeo, who after two birdies on their first three holes, must have been feeling confident. A lone bogey on the fourth didn't do much to slow them down as they closed with a further five birdies to shoot 66. The runners up were less than half a shot in front of the third place team with a nett 55.375. Their day could not have got off to a better start, when Phil Zubrinich had a hole in one with his first shot of the day on the 7th hole. Congratulations Phil! After the excitement of the first hole, the team gathered themselves and also finished with a fine score of 66 - well done to John & Amy Manuel and Philip & Deborah Zubrinich. Our winners managed to beat the rest of the field by three shots when they handed in their card showing a score of 63. This equated to a nett 52.375 and included ten birdies and a single bogey. Congratulations to Bruno Battistella (15), John Woodside (22), Eric McCladen (20) & Bronwyn McCladen (28).

The charity event on course raised $1,555 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 15th - see below for a collection of shots (including our winners smash factor of 1.52!).

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Allison Ashby, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
