2019 HLB Mann Judd Golf Day - Concord Golf Club
The 26th Annual HLB Mann Judd Golf Day took place at the recently renovated Concord Golf Club under perfect conditions for golf. One team managed to streak ahead but it couldn't have been closer with the chasing teams, with nine teams within 1.75 shots of the runner up score.
In third place with a nett 54.75 was the team of Drew Burden (7), Pru Cheeseman (36), Josh Rowe (27) & Graham Montgomery (20) who took advantage of their good handicap combinations to post a score of five under par. Just over half a shot better and taking out the runner up position were James McFarlane (27), Annake Dippenaar (36), Justin Lewis (11) & Paul Tate (21). Their round was going smoothly with four birdies until a late bogey slowed their momentum. Thankfully for them, that bogey was followed by two consecutive birdies, allowing them to hold on to second place. The winning team took advantage of the lowest handicapped player in the field and ended up winning by just under three shots with a nett 51.5. Congratulations to Todd Gammel (27), Dave Ellett (27), David Burge (3) & Phil Kerr (27) who started strongly with five birdies in their first six holes - the only problem was their other score in that streak was a bogey. A steadying period started with six straight pars before they found their mojo again and finished with five more birdies to sign for a fantastic score of 62.
