Sydney City Lexus, March 2017 - The Lakes

The first Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational of 2017 took place at The Lakes under gloomy skies with the prediction of rain throughout the afternoon. With that said, we were extremely lucky and only saw the rain for the last few holes.

The Lakes Golf Club always proves to be a difficult course to score but Sydney City Lexus enticed the owners to go for their shots with two hole in one prizes on offer - a Jucad buggy on the 9th hole and a Lexus CT200h on the 18th. Guests also had the opportunity to trial the latest Titleist drivers on the 1st tee.

The team of Scott Chant, George Stamatakos, Ian Yum and Nacim Dilmi shot to the early lead with an eagle and birdie on their first two holes. Their exciting round continued with more birdies but unfortunately four bogeys as well, eventually leading to a third place finish with nett 58.75 on a count back. The second place team of Gu Kim, Sophia Chung, Sunny Song and Phillip Shin started with a bogey but steadied the ship with five birdies as well for a nett score of 57. Our winners were consistent throughout, with four birdies on the front nine followed by four birdies on the back nine for a magnificent eight under par. When their handicaps were applied they took out the winner's prize with a nett score of 55.625. Congratulations to Andrew Ball (6), Allyn Beard (15), Phillip Weatherall (24) and Nicholas Iannou (22).

A charity event on the 18th hole managed to raise $1,080 for the Randwick Children's Hospital. Thank you to the Lexus owners for your kind donations.
