Melbourne City Lexus Golf Invitational 2017 - The Eastern Golf Club

The Melbourne City Lexus Golf Invitational took place at the beautiful Eastern Golf Club under cloudy, cold conditions that made the difficult course even more challenging. A great crowd was on hand to test their skills against the Greg Norman designed layout.

Scoring proved to be tough for many, with only three teams finishing under par after the 18 holes. It was therefore no surprise that those teams took out the first three spots. In third place with a nett 60.125 was Brian Hou, Jing Yang, Yuji Ito & Zhang Yong who after a bogey on their first hole, managed four birdies coming home. The winners and runners up were the only teams in the field to not have a bogey and in the end the runners up were undone by their low handicaps. Commiserations to Darren Cook (6), Tyson Finn (3), Goran Trogrlic (18) & Damien Burl (24) who had a great score of six under par and a nett 59.625. The winners began their round with a birdie and never looked back with a further two birdies to finish three under par with a nett 58.25. Congratulations to Steve Gent (18), Rohan Gent (23), Colin Wiseman (18) & Faye Wiseman (27).

The Lexus ribbon event managed to raise $878.10 for the Royal Melbourne Hospital and together with the Titleist demo drivers and radar gun hole, the guests were treated to some great fun on course.

Thirty guests joined the Lexus Beginner Lessons who were conducted by three of the local golf professionals. Congratulations to Christine Gerbert and Debbie Krusic who won the putting and chipping competitions respectively.

Congratulations also to Josh Dupont who was drawn out as the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience.
