Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational 2018 - Rockhampton Golf Club

The Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational took place under perfect conditions and the Rockhampton Golf Club. With the week of golf ahead, each team had a golf professional in their group to assist the team with scoring and provide the odd tip or two. 

With each group having five players, we were expecting good scores, but I don't think anyone saw a 55 coming...that's right...17 under par! Their score comprised 1 eagle, 15 birdies and 2 pars - that must have felt like bogeys! Congratulations go to Nick Russell (Pro), Ryan Turnbell (14), Jeremy Maruo (18), Mark Thew (15) & Dean Bunt (3) who won by over three shots when they recorded a nett 50. In second place with a fine score of 61 and nett 53.3 was Jacob Boyce (Pro), Garry Cini (27), Graham Botting (14), Daryl Newsome (18) & Liam Good (18), who must have regretted their slow start when they were one under through four holes, before they turned it on to shoot ten birdies in their next thirteen holes. Just 0.5 of a shot behind in third place was Tom Power Horan (Pro), Tom Moore (19), Fiona Moore (26), Russell Coombes (8), & Joy Coombes (29) who played a steady round with ten birdies and eight pars to finish with a nett 53.8. For the full results, please click on the button below - 'Download Full Results'. 

The Lexus guests had the opportunity to win their way to the US Masters if anyone was lucky enough to get a hole in one on the 11th hole. Unfortunately the hole in one prize did not go off, but we managed to raise in excess of $1,800 for the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service. Congratulations must also go to the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience, Gary Grant who will have a fantastic time as a guest of Lexus of Rockhampton for the first ever running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
