Lexus of Perth Golf Invitational 2018 - Joondalup Resort
The Lexus of Perth Golf Invitational took place at the beautiful Joondalup Resort with a clear but warm day greeting the guests. A great turn out of 168 golfers were on hand to try their luck against the challenging 27 hole layout.
Even though there was a stiff breeze early in the day, scoring was particularly good with a nett 54 required for the win. Interestingly, the top three places were taken by teams each playing one of the different course combinations. In third place with nett 56 were the three ball team of Manh Hung Dinh, Ian McCallum & Phillip Kim, who managed five birdies in their last seven holes to rocket them up the leaderboard. The runners up were just 0.25 of a shot ahead of the third place team with a nett 55.75. They had an amazing round of nine birdies but unfortunately bogeyed their first and last holes to mean they would have to be content with second place. Well played, Phillip Smith, Grant Winning, Reg Airey & Darrell Baker. The winners on the day won by 1.75 shots in the end, thanks to a great round of eight under par that included an eagle, seven birdies and a loan bogey. Congratulations to Malcolm Kates (12), John Dec (21), Christine Kelly (29) & David Broome (18) who finished with a nett 54. A number of on course activities were available to the guests, including the chance to win a Lexus CT for a hole in one. Unfortunately the car did not go off, but we did manage to raise $3,520 for Telethon as a result. Everyone's hole in one attempts were also recorded and can be seen in the video below with shot tracer applied for some fun!
Congratulations must also go to the winners of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience - David Sceales & Lui D'Adamo - who will have a fantastic time as guests of Lexus of Perth for the first ever running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
