Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational 2018 - New South Wales Golf Club

The Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational was held at the prestigious New South Wales Golf Club under absolutely perfect conditions. The course was beautifully presented and with only a light breeze, birdies were the call for the day.

In third place with a nett 57.125 was the team of Bernie Agnew, Ann Agnew, Wayne Patterson & John Cola, who started quickly to be six under par after just seven holes. Unfortunately three bogeys in the next five holes slowed their momentum and meant they had to settle for third. The runners up were 1.5 shots ahead and were moving along steadily until they finished with four birdies in their last five holes to record a great score of 65. Well done to Kurt Kordovolos, Ian Watson, Dean Nonemacher & Tim Knapp. The winners also shot a fine score of 65, but their higher handicaps meant they finished ahead with a nett 54.25. After starting on the hardest hole on the course and safely making a par, they settled into their round and were one of only three teams to not record a bogey on the day. The fact they had seven birdies along the way as well, meant they would declared the winners. Congratulations to Col Duggan (21), Matthew Duggan (12), Joshua Barnard (27) & David Allen (26).

Funds were raised on course for Mater Dei charity. Thank you to all those who donated as we raised $1,160. Guests also had the opportunity to win a Lexus for a hole in one on the second hole, unfortunately it didn't go off, but make sure you have a look at the attempts below and just how close one of the guests went.

The Melbourne Cup Experience draw took a twist when Geoffrey McNevin's name was drawn out and he mentioned he was going to be overseas and couldn't make it. The unfortunate news for Geoff, turned into great news for his playing partner who just happened to be drawn out next. Congratulations to Peter Hannaford!
