Lexus of Dubbo Golf Invitational 2018 - Dubbo Golf Club
The Lexus of Dubbo Golf Invitational was held at Dubbo Golf Club on what promised to be an exciting day for all. The weather was predicted to be very warm, but the early morning start meant the guests returned to the air conditioned clubhouse before the true heat of the day struck. Approximately 125 guests enjoyed the lunch and the opportunity to hear from F1 World Champion Alan Jones.
On the golf side, 18 teams fought hard for the opportunity to win this year's event and scoring was fantastic with seven teams shooting seven under or better. In third place with a nett 53.25 (just 0.125 off second place) was Kylie Sutherland, Mike Sutherland, Jock Allen & Carolyn Allen who had an up and down round with two bogeys, six birdies and an eagle. The second place team were in complete contrast as they breezed around the course with nine birdies and no bogeys but still couldn't catch the eventual winners. Well played to Ford Ruskin Rowe, Janet Ruskin Rowe, John Searle & Jo Searle who finished with nett 53.125. Our winners had a fantastic round of ten under par and twice during their round managed to have four consecutive birdies. They also threw in a couple of bogeys and an eagle to finish the clear winners with a nett 51.25. Congratulations to Ian Collins (3), Rosie Bartlett (23), Di Hilderbrandt (25) & Andrew Perry (27).
The Lexus of Dubbo owners certainly dug deep when it came to the charity hole with $1,845.20 to go to Sharon Allan's Dance for Cancer fundraising efforts.
Eleven guests also took part in the beginner golf lessons with local professional Craig Mears. Congratulations to the winners of the competitions, David Payne and Allan Payne.
The golfers also tried their hand at winning a Lexus on the 8th hole. Unfortunately no hole in one was recorded, but for all the attempts see the video below.
