Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitational - 10th May 2018
The second of three Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitationals took place at the beautiful Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club, again under perfect conditions. After one team ran away with the first event by more than five shots, it was a much tighter battle with five teams within a shot of the winning score.
In third place with a nett 56.625 was the team of David Wills, Tim Wills, Alan McGibbon & Peter Lenehan who started slowly to be one over through four holes before going on a birdie spree to have seven under in eight holes at one stage, before a bogey on their second last hole cost them the victory. Only 0.125 of a shot in front were our runners up who had a steady round with five birdies and two bogeys. It was unfortunate that one of those bogeys was on their third last hole, making them destined for second place. Well done to Andrew Crew, John Delaney, Les Perera & Vee Perera. Our winners were playing well early in the round but could not be seen at the top of the leaderboard until late, when they had an eagle after taking advantage of Jody's drive on the 1st, quickly followed by a birdie on the 2nd. This was good enough to give them the victory by 0.25 of a shot with a nett 56.25. Congratulations to Steve Bennett (13), Vanessa Gilbert (27), Phong Bui (18) & Duc Pham (20). A number of on course activities were available to the guests, including the chance to win a Lexus NX for a hole in one. Unfortunately the car did not go off, but see the attempts below with the shot tracer technology added.
In excess of $3,000 was raised for Tour de Cure via the on course fundraising event and the raffle for the set of Piranha golf clubs - our sincere thanks!
Congratulations must also go to the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience, Tony Gall who will have a fantastic time as a guest of Lexus of Chatswood for the first ever running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
