2022 Lexus of Townsville Golf Invitational - Townsville Golf Club

The Lexus of Townsville Golf Invitational was held under perfect conditions at Townsville Golf Club in what will be the event's last time in the old clubhouse. Guests were given an opportunity to win a beautiful Lexus UX300e for a hole in one on the 10th hole, but unfortunately it didn't go off!

Scoring was extremely close with four teams finishing within 0.62 shots of the winning score. The third placed team finished with nett 54.25 after shooting the equal lowest score of the day. A slow start with a couple of pars was quickly forgotten when they scored a hole in one on the charity hole. That was followed by three birdies in a row and they were off. A late bogey stopped them from taking out the win, but well played Jason Hautaniemi, Jarrrod Hautaniemi, Gordon McHugh & Trevor Rethamel. The runners up were just 0.37 short of the winning score with nett 54.12. They started with a par, birdie and bogey and relied on a quick finish of six under par for their last six holes to jump up the leaderboard. Well done Daryll Pearce, Sandra Pearce, David Law & Ryan Egan. The winners were one of the few teams to not have a bogey on the day and with their higher handicap, that would prove to be the difference. They started well and were five under par after nine holes. Things slowed on the back nine and they could only record two more birdies, but thankfully for them, they had already done enough to win with nett 53.75. Congratulations to Dennis Di Bartolo (18), Dave Falco (10), Geraldine Cockburn (36) & Rhoni Morley (18).
