2022 Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational - The Lakes Golf Club - March
The Sydney City Lexus Golf Invitational was held at The Lakes Golf Club under perfect conditions and despite the recent bad weather in Sydney, all guests were still able to play in carts. A bag drop was available on arrival which also added to the guest experience. With a full field and perfect scoring conditions, scores were bound to be impressive. The third placed team were just 0.25 of a shot clear of their nearest rival when they finished with nett 54.5. They were off to a steady start to be two under through their first eight holes, however five more birdies were recorded on the way home to shoot them up the leader board. Well played, Wendy Tomlin, Steve Tomlin, Jenny Joseph & Neil Joseph. The runners up were exactly one shot better with nett 53.5 and took full advantage of the help on course to record two eagles and four birdies. Unfortunately three bogeys held them back and stopped them from taking top spot. Well done, Bo Bae Sekine, Yuji Sekine, John McGee & Susan McGee. The winners were a three-ball team and after they started their round with two straight bogeys, they must have been wondering what the round would hold - thankfully things improved and the rest of their round included eight birdies and an eagle on their way to nett 52.17. Congratulations Brian Pickup, Lesley Pickup & Luke McDonald who took out the win by just over one shot.
The on course charity event raised an incredible $4,400 for the Sydney Children's Hospital - thanks to all who contributed. When this was matched by Sydney City Lexus and another $625 was raised via the auction of the spare winners prize, it took the total to $9,425.
