2021 Steve Waugh Foundation Grange @ Forever Green Golf Day

The 6th annual Steve Waugh Foundation Grange@Forever Green Golf Day was held at The Lakes Golf Club on May 27th, raising vital funds for children and young adults living with Rare Diseases.

The event was a huge success with 24 Teams teeing off to enjoy 18 holes of golf at the home of the 2018 Australian Open. Grange@Forever Green is more than a golf day, with teams enjoying an afternoon of gourmet food and wine tasting experiences accompanied by Penfolds Grange, courtesy of major event supporters Treasury Wine Estates.

On the golf side of things, scoring was extremely close when the live scoring went dark after 14 holes, with six teams within three shots. Unfortunately, Blooms, Linfox and Treasury Wines fell away and didn't end up featuring in the top three. The GWS team finished off their round with an eight pointer to leapfrog other contenders and finish in third place with 103 points. Saatchi & Saatchi had an up and down round but three eight point holes certainly helped their cause, allowing them to score 104 for the runner up position. In the end, the winners finished two shots clear with 106. But they didn't have it all their way after a very slow start to be just seven points after two holes. Thankfully for them, some good golf followed and they managed to play thirteen holes with a score of six or better. Congratulations to the Canon Australia team of Aaron Berthelot, James Blyth, Glen Gregory & Nic Peasley. For the full results from the day, please click on the button below

We also had the 'smash factor' activity on the 14th hole - see below for a collection of shots.

The Steve Waugh Foundation champions that “no one should have to stand alone; everyone needs a team to support them”. At Grange@Forever Green, the Steve Waugh Foundation is generously supported by Teams of like minds passionately giving to the cause.

Funds raised on the day go directly to life changing Grants for medicine, specialised equipment, treatment and items that improve the quality of life. The only Foundation of its kind in Australia, Steve, Lynette and the Team are there for the children and families who face the challenges of a Rare Disease with ‘strength of character’ every day.
