2021 Lexus of Hobart Golf Invitational - Royal Hobart Golf Club

The Lexus of Hobart Golf Invitational was held under cool and blustery conditions at the beautiful Royal Hobart Golf Club. A 100% attendance made for a great day and even the cool weather couldn't stop some teams from shooting fantastic scores.

In third place with a nett 56.87, was the team of Tim D'Emden, Ron Brooks, Todd Tatnell & Shane Goss. They were off to a great start when they were six under through ten holes. Unfortunately, their final eight holes only managed one birdie and they would have to settle for third after shooting a fine 65. The difference between first and second was just 0.5 of a shot! The unlucky runners up were Richard Jacket, Elaine Jacket, Jack Johnston & Annette Johnston. After losing by such a close margin, they must be regretting their slow start when they were two over par after three holes. That quickly changed when they had seven birdies in their next nine holes, but finishing with six straight pars meant they would fall just short with nett 55.25. The winners never looked in trouble as they played the entire round without a bogey - that coupled with nine birdies was enough for the win with nett 54.75. Congratulations to Garry Jeffrey (9), Paul McTaggart (18), Ian Wells (21) & Ken Smith (18).

$1,112 was raised on the 8th hole for the Variety Charity - thank you to all who contributed. Ashleigh was on the 13th tee hitting some tee shots for the guests as well as analysing their swing with Flightscope (see the videos below). 

Seven guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons and were able to go through their paces with Matt, the local golf professional. Congratulations to the winners below:

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Sue Pretyman, who will have the opportunity to play The Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
