2021 MBS Insurance Golf Day - New South Wales Golf Club

The MBS Insurance Golf Day took place at the spectacular New South Wales Golf Club on a perfect day. The course was simply stunning and even for those who had played there before, it truely was a great experience. Scoring was extremely close with only 10 Stableford points separating first from last and a count back required to seperate both the winners and third placed teams. 

Midway through the round the third placed team of Chris MacKenzie, John Fisher, Tom McDonald & Martin Fowler were last on the leaderboard but a stellar back nine of 58 points ensured they would beat the other team who finished on 106 points on a count back. The runners up, in contrast, were on top of the leaderboard for a great portion of the day, but in amongst all the good play - three 8 point holes and four 7 point holes - they also had a 3 and 4 point hole that ultimately stopped them from taking the victory. Well played Evan Miller, Ed Bassingthwaighte, David Dossetto & Emma Clark. Our winners were extremely steady throughout the day, recording just one 4 point hole and a back nine of 54 points to win the count back by 2 when both teams finished on 109 points. Ashleigh was on the 10th hole measuring each guest's ball speed and club head speed. The relationship between the two develops a 'smash factor'. The optimum smash factor is near 1.5 and we had a reading of 1.54 from Ben Norval - who interestingly plays with his hands the reverse way on the club! See the video below for all the swings...
