2021 Lexus of Cairns Golf Invitational - Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club

The Lexus of Cairns Golf Invitational was held under beautiful conditions at Palmer Sea Reef. In the end, one team were run away winners, but it proved to be much tighter (half a shot) between the runners up and third place. 

In third place was the team of Maggie Christensen, Greg Lennon, Bruce Lee & Charlie Lee who had a slow start with just one birdie and one bogey in their first eleven holes to be sitting well down the leader board on even par. That sight must have motivated them as they went on to record six birdies in a row to finish with nett 54.62. The runners up, in contrast were three under par through five holes but only managed another three under on the remaining holes to post nett 54.12. Well played Glenn Abbot, Wade Simmonds, Chris Marsh & Daniel Towne. The winners definitely deserved the first place prize with the best round of the day that included ten birdies and no bogeys on the way to winning by 2 1/2 shots with nett 51.62. The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Bruce Lee, who will have the opportunity to play The Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion (LANDMARK by Lexus) for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
