2020 Lexus of Maroochydore Golf Invitational - Twin Waters Golf Club

The Lexus of Maroochydore Golf Invitational was held at Twin Waters Golf Club for the first time with a two tee start. A few showers were not enough to deter a record turn out, with 95 taking part in the 18 hole event and 15 enjoying the beginners golf lessons. The course was in typically good condition and all the staff at Twin Waters assisted to make the day a great experience for the Lexus owners. 

The third placed team had a slow start to their round when they were one over par through their first four holes. This forced them to kick into gear and three straight birdies followed. A spell of pars were then disrupted with a birdie-eagle finish to post nett 58. Well done to Ian Fettes, Tracey Fettes, Jan Langdon & John Langdon. The runners up fell just 0.38 short when they finished with nett 56.75 after a score of 65. They too had a slow start, parring their first seven holes, however seven birdies in the last eleven holes soon had them climbing the leaderboard into second place. Well played John Elks, Murray Elks, Garry Whyte & Wendy Town. The winners shot the equal lowest score of the day, a 65 but they didn't have it all their own way when they recorded a dreaded bogey mid way through their round. Thankfully for them, that bogey was surrounded by eight birdies, including three in a row to finish their round and secure the victory with nett 56.37 - congratulations to Chris Collinge (12), Paul Grant (17), Chris Perry (18) & Amber Perry (27).

The charity event on course raised in excess of $2,000 for The Brain Institute - thank you to all who contributed. Fifteen guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons with Anthony & Jacob, the local golf professionals. Congratulations to the following winners:
