2020 Lexus of Dubbo Golf Invitational - Dubbo Golf Club

The 2020 Lexus of Dubbo Golf Invitational was played at Dubbo Golf Club only a week after the Women's NSW Open. The composite course was in play and guests were challenged by the tight fairways and long rough, but that still didn't stop some teams from shooting great scores. With lunch guests included, there were more than 150 on site to enjoy the event on behalf of Lexus of Dubbo.

The lowest score of the day was an incredible 61, but with their low team handicaps, even a score of 11 under wasn't going to be good enough for a top three finish. That said, they certainly deserve an honourable mention, so well done to Gary Button, Sue Button, Matthew Button & Anthony Kek. The third placed team missed out on a count back with nett 56.25. They managed to have a great round, that included nine birdies and one bogey, but it was the birdie on their last hole that allowed them to have a podium finish - well done to Elton Keeffe, Steve Hinks, David Ringland & Heather Ringland. The runners up had a fantastic start to be six under through six holes. Unfortunately for them, that was followed by five straight pars before they finished well with four more birdies to post nett 56.25. Well done to Peter Allan, Murray Gilchrist, Brett Harvey & Nick Harvey. The winners started slowly and were only one under after seven holes, but that quickly changed when they shot seven birdies in their last eleven holes to finish with nett 52.62 and beat their closest rival by over three shots. Congratulations to Ben Thompson, Marty Robertson, Joe Burgun & Andrew McDonald.

Thanks to the efforts of Colleen and the generosity of the Lexus of Dubbo guests, the charity event on course raised $3,164 for the Orana Support Services. Thank you to all who contributed!

Ashleigh was on the 10th tee hitting some tee shots for the guests as well as analysing their swing with Flightscope. See the video below for a collection of the swings.

Five guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons with Jake and the winners of the events are listed below:

Putting Winner - Cecily Brazier

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to John Luckie, who will have the opportunity to play The Metropolitan Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
