2020 Lexus of Brisbane Group Golf Invitational - Wednesday

The Lexus of Brisbane Group Golf Invitational commenced on Wednesday at the beautiful Links Hope Island Golf Club. The course was in great condition and the guests were keen to see what score would be required to take out the win. 

The third placed team had a slow start to their round when they were even par through their first six holes. This forced them to kick into gear and five straight birdies followed before a dreaded bogey slowed them down again. They managed another four birdies in their last six holes to post a nett 55.37. Well done to Gary Hanson, Selwyn Clark, Clive Schultz & Graeme Allan. The runners up were an incredible nine under par through the first twelve holes and followed that up with two more birdies until they bogeyed their very last hole to finish with nett 55. Well played on the lowest round of the day - Peter Lowe, Colin Heron & Jeff Douglas. The winners had a steady start to be three under after nine holes, but it was their back nine that included four birdies and an eagle that saw them take out the win by 1.75 with a score of 53.25. Congratulations to Peter Brown (18), Warren Bamford (18), Bill Charlton (15) & Mike Garrett (27).

The charity event on course raised in excess of $1,300 for The QLD Brain Institute - thank you to all who contributed. Twenty guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons with Kieron & Garrett, the local golf professionals. Congratulations to the following winners:
