Macquarie Bank Golf Invitational - Hamilton Island

The Macquarie Bank Golf Invitational returned to the beautiful Hamilton Island after the Mornington Peninsula event last year. A record attendance on hand to take on the challenging course. 

A new format was well received by the group, allowing for those struggling off the tee to compete and post many four pointers and even the occasional five pointer. Congratulations to the winners of day one - Con Tsiorvas, Andrew Aravanis, Rod Dickinson & Sam Papallo who pipped two other teams by just one shot to finish on 99 points. With 27 holes up their sleeves, scoring on the final day was predictably better, but I am not sure anyone saw 107 points coming...congratulations to Bruce Plasto, Arthur Tzaneros, Tom Saywell & Russell Shields. In addition to the golf there were two great dinners, a number of stories told (none better than by John Vouris) and of course a great State of Origin win by the might Blues.
