Lexus of Central Coast Golf Invitational - Kooindah Waters Golf Club

The inaugural Lexus of Central Coast Golf Invitational took place at Kooindah Waters Golf Club. After a week of rain, the course was presented beautifully and the weather finally changed for the better. Fifty guests took part in either the 18 hole event or beginner golf lessons and got to 'experience amazing' on behalf of Lexus of Central Coast.

The greens were in fantastic condition and as many know, putting is key on these days and good greens traditionally mean good scores. In the end there was less than a shot between the three top teams. In third place with nett 57.75 was the team of Clint Wilson, Dave Stretton, Tim Stephenson & Pam Stephenson who started strongly with seven birdies in their first thirteen holes, but unfortunately for them, they could not find another birdie on their final five holes. The runners up, in contrast, were off to a slow start and were even par through eleven holes. A great run of five birdies in seven holes to finish, shot them up the leaderboard - well done to Daniel Waddington, Andrew Ball, Trevor McMullen & Rod Carter who had nett 57.5. The winners shot the lowest score of the day with a 64 and were always in contention after a front nine of three under par and a back nine of five under par. In the end the margin was just 0.625 of a shot. Congratulations to Doug Maiden (4), Doug Binns (17), Matthew Hastie (18) & Justin O'Malley Jones (18) who finished with nett 56.875.

The charity event on course raised $850 for Kids with Cancer. A big thank you to all who contributed.

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Glenn Mead who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
