Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational 2019 - The Metropolitan Golf Club
The Lexus of Brighton Golf Invitational took place at the beautiful Metropolitan Golf Club on under the threat of rain that never quite eventuated. The guests embraced the day with in excess of 140 in attendance for either the 18 hole event or the beginner golf lessons.
The course was in fantastic condition and good scores would be required to take out the win. The third placed team had nett 56.5 and if not for three pars to finish, their story could have been a lot different. They shot out of the blocks with four birdies in their first six holes and then another four birdies and an eagle surely had them thinking of great things. Unfortunately a slow finish that included a bogey relegated Jason Daniels, Gerard Studderd, Shane Filbey & Maura Colaci to 3rd place. The runners up had no bogeys during their round and managed six birdies and an eagle to post nett 55.125. Well done to Denis Johnston, Sam Lentini, Ernie La Torre & Ennis La Torre. The winners were having a steady round when they were five under par through fourteen holes, but a run of four straight birdies to finish ensured they took the victory by just under two shots with nett 53.575. Congratulations to Ben White (2), Richard Swinard (15), Peter Gustavsen (27) & Jan Gustavsen (33).
