Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational 2018 - Commercial Club, Albury

The annual Lexus of Wodonga Golf Invitational took place under gloomy skies at the Commercial Club, Albury. Even though the predicted weather was not great, we had a fabulous turn out for the day and some great scores were recorded.

The difference between the top three teams was just 1.5 shots. In third place with a nett score of 52.75 was Gerard Percy, Bernadette Percy, Max Luff & Lyn Luff, who started steadily with six pars before they managed four birdies in the next six holes to shoot them up the leaderboard. The runners up shot 60, the best score of the day by three shots. Unfortunately for them, their lower handicaps meant they wouldn't be lifting the trophy today. Their fantastic round included a stretch of eight birdies in ten holes on their way to a nett 52.125. Well done to Anthony Whitehead, Bob Whitehead, Drew Cameron & Michael Spiteri. The winners had a great handicap combination for an Ambrose event and after a slow start managed to have six under their last eight holes to scrape home by 0.875 of a shot. Congratulations to Rob Pickett (14), Euan Pickett (8), Mary Turner (36) & Nelda Ryan (36).

Funds were raised on course for the Relay for Life Charity. Thank you to all those who donated as we raised $790. Guests also had their swings recorded on the 6th tee and since then we have added the shot tracer and compiled to a video...see below.

Post golf the guests moved on to Miss Amelie's for a wonderful cocktail function.
