Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational - Toowoomba Golf Club, Middle Ridge

The Lexus of Toowoomba Golf Invitational had been under threat all week after some dire forecasts. However, even though it was cold for October, somehow we managed to get the 18 holes in without even a drop of rain! A 100% roll up meant a great day was in store, even if all the golf shots didn't find their target. 

The cold and windy conditions made scoring difficult, but that said, one team certainly defied the odds. In third place with a nett score of 59.875 was Ian Weigh, David Alderdice, Ian Tyson & Deseree Tyson who after a slow start, managed to finish their last eight holes in three under par to sign for a 70. The runners up also had a slow start to their round and scored their first birdie of the day on their seventh hole. That must have had an impact, as they went on to record another four birdies in quick succession. Well done to Brad Lipp, Lee-Anne Lipp, Justin Shine & Michael Coorey who finished with a nett 58.875. Our winners shot an amazing score of 62 that included an incredible stretch of eight birdies in nine holes at one stage. They didn't have it all their way though with a bogey on the 9th hole. It did little to effect the result with their nett score of 55 more than three shots better than the rest of the field. Congratulations to Campbell Lane (11), Craig Jones (9), Tom Herbert (17) & Michael McNamara (19).
