Lexus of Parramatta Encore Cup Final 2017 - Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club

The Lexus of Parramatta Encore Cup Final took place at the beautiful Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club under cloudy but calm conditions. Fifteen representatives from Oatlands, Pennant Hills and Castle Hill had qualified for the opportunity to win the magnificent trophy and bragging rights for the next 12 months. 

The average Stableford score of just under 28 points was a vast improvement on the previous year and meant that the overall team totals were also going to be higher. In the end, a three way count back on 35pts was required to separate the runners up from 4th place. Gail Verdon (Castle Hill) was lucky enough to pip the other two and take out the runners up prize. In third place was Ann Khanna (Oatlands) and fourth place, Ailsa Holmes-Walker (Castle Hill). Our winner with a fine 36pts was Jo Power (Castle Hill), who took away the Titleist golf bag as her prize - congratulations Jo!

Even though Castle Hill managed three of the top four scores on the day, unfortunately they could only muster enough team points to finish in third place with 399. The difference between the winning score last year was only three Stableford points and this year was even closer with it coming down to just two points! Commiserations to the valiant team from Pennant Hills who finished with 424, meaning the winners of the 2017 Lexus of Parramatta Encore Cup were Oatlands Golf Club with 426 points. Congratulations to Oatlands who take the trophy for the second straight year. The challenge is out to Castle Hill and Pennant Hills to try and stop the three-peat.
