Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational 2017 - New South Wales Golf Club

The Lexus of Macarthur Golf Invitational took place at the beautiful New South Wales Golf Club under relatively calm conditions. All the guests had the luxury of playing in carts and many would be playing the course for the first time!

With the calm conditions came some great scoring from the teams, with seven teams posting 64 and one team a 62. In the end the handicaps separated the teams and in third place with a nett 54.75 was Andrew Moyle, David Duncombe, Wayne Patterson & John Cola. The runners up were one of the lowest handicapped teams on the day and being a three ball didn't help their cause. What did help, was a hole in one from Ken Barnard on the 19th hole (his seventh hole in one - congratulations!). This, together with six birdies allowed them to shoot an impressive 62. However, they fell just short in the end with a nett 53.5 - commiserations to John Byrne, Ken Barnard & Joshua Barnard. Our winners were also a three ball team and obviously took advantage of the extra tee shot and putt to post another of the 64s. After a relatively slow start with four straight pars, they were able to get their score moving by getting five birdies in their next six holes and then getting through the tough back nine unscathed. Congratulations to Nathan Wynne, Chris Lees & Rod Mulhall who finished with a nett 52. 

A total of $625 was raised for the Mater Dei School via the Lexus ribbon event on the iconic 6th hole. Thank you to all who contributed. 

Congratulations also to Nathan Wynne, who not only won the golf event but was also lucky enough to be drawn out as the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience. What a day!
