Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitational - Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club - 23rd May

The third and final Lexus of Chatswood Golf Invitational was held at Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club, again under beautiful conditions. Just under 100 guests took part in the 18 hole event and got to 'experience amazing' on behalf of Lexus of Chatswood.

The tougher pin positions meant a slightly higher winning score than the previous two events. In fact, the winning score would have placed 4th at the first event and 6th at the second event. That said, the winners managed to beat the rest of the field by two shots! In third place with a nett 56.875 were David Hayden, Alan McGibbon, Wolf Berens & Phillip Oswald. They shot to the lead when they were five under through their first nine holes. Unfortunately for them, they could only manage one more birdie for the rest of the round and would have to settle for third. The second place team of Steve Patrick, Geoff Wickett, Rodney Tate & Brian Fine had nett 56.5. After a steady start to their round, they were one under at the turn and not preparing any speeches yet. However, a fine back nine of three under allowed them to leapfrog a number of teams into second place. The winners had the most bizarre start to their round, when one of their team members went to the wrong hole. This was thankfully rectified after a few holes and they went on to shoot a fantastic score of 66. Playing the first four holes as a two ball team, Clive and Judy were one under par. When Ajay made his way to the team they managed another five birdies to finish with a nett 54.5. Congratulations to our winners - Clive Potter (15), Judy Boon (36) & Ajay Valunju (18).

The charity event on course and the Piranha golf club raffle raised in excess of $2,700 for Tour de Cure. Thank you to all who contributed! We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 1st - see below for a collection of shots.

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Brian Pilbeam, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
