Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational 2018 - Royal Canberra Golf Club

The Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational was again held at the beautiful Royal Canberra Golf Club. This year, perfect conditions greeted the capacity field and the scoring from some groups reflected that.

In third place and just 0.25 off the runners up score were Grant McGavin, Russell Herbert, Jason Croker & Tommy Rowe who compiled eleven birdies on their way to a 61, but were undone by their low handicaps in the end. The runners up had a steady start to their round before they turned things on with eight birdies in nine holes. However the four pars in a row to finish their round stopped their momentum and they had to settle for second. Well done to Jake Nagle, Ben Brown, Ben Johnston & Adam Butt. The winners managed to beat the field by more than one and a half shots to finish with a nett 55 after their steady round of ten pars and eight birdies. Congratulations to Richard Madder (10), John Mikic (18), Elvis Vinkovic (18) & Zarko Prem (26).

Six guests took part in the beginner golf lessons with Bernard Knowler taking out the putting competition and Josh Ng winning the chipping.

A total of $1,420 was raised for Ronald McDonald House, Canberra via the charity hole and many attempts were made to win the Lexus on the 13th with a hole in one. Unfortunately, no one was successful, but see the video below for the attempts with shot tracer technology.
