Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitational - 7th May 2018

The first of two Lexus of Blackburn Golf Invitationals took place at Australia's number one course, the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. The peaceful sunrise was unfortunately not a sign of things to come with the wind picking up and making the already tough course, even more challenging. 

In third place with a nett 58.5 was the team of Warren Beale, Geoff Bell, Hetal Patel & Brenden Andrews who played some great golf and were the only team without a bogey. The second place team started with mixed emotions...an eagle on their first hole was quickly followed by a bogey on their second. They managed to get things back on track though and finished with six birdies on their closing sixteen holes to finish with a nett 58. Well done to Corey Lim, Stuart Robertson, Carl Stevenson & Jeanette Stevenson. Our winners didn't have it all their own way either and were even par through their first ten holes with three birdies and three bogeys. It wasn't until a great run of six birdies in eight holes, including four in a row to finish their round before they looked to be in contention. In the end they won by two shots with a nett 56, congratulations to Eko Oetomo (7), Benigno Bernardo (27), Mark O'Shea (22) & Grant McGregor (24).  For the full results, please click on the button below - 'Download Full Results'.

A number of on course activities were available to the guests, including the chance to win a Lexus CT for a hole in one. Unfortunately the car did not go off, but see the attempts below with the shot tracer technology added.

$1,700 was raised for Finan's Gift via the on course fundraising event on the tough 16th hole.

Two of the local golf professionals at Royal Melbourne managed the beginner golf lessons with 23 Lexus owners taking part. Congratulations to the following competition winners, Li Sheng, Jimmy Wu, Ji Ling Gu, Tannin Paramo & Rosalia Lay who actually won two events. A big thanks to all those who made the effort and we hope you enjoyed the experience. 

Congratulations must also go to the winner of the Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience, Bryan Ericson who will have a fantastic time as a guest of Lexus of Blackburn for the first ever running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
