Fujitsu Australia's Charity Golf Day - The Australian Golf Club

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand’s Charity Golf Day took place at the home of the 102nd playing of The Australian Open. As anticipated, the course was in fantastic condition and the guests were eager to test their skill against the championship venue and raise funds for Fujitsu’s primary charity partner Camp Quality.

Giggle, the Camp Quality charity mascot and the 3 puppets (Kylie, Dean and Mel) greeted the guests as they arrive.  These delightful puppets visit children living with cancer in hospital, their schools and at camps!

During the afternoon of golf, scoring was extremely close with twelve teams within 10 Stableford points of the winning score. In third place with a total of 98 points were Ian Woollett, Kieran Flynn, Bob Coombs & Michael Flynn who were travelling along steadily until a 9 point hole on the 17th bumped them up the leaderboard. The winners and runners up had to be separated by a count back when they both finished on 101 points. Commiserations to our runners up, Myles Burley, Paul Smith, Kavish Charan & Bob Lefebvre who had the most consistent round of the field with only one 4 point hole. They finished with 53 points on the back nine, falling just one short in the count back. Our winners must have been nervous when they finished with a 3 pointer on their second last hole, but they had done enough earlier with a multitude of 6s and 7s throughout their round. Congratulations to Simon Greville (7), Peter Hodgett (20), Bob Robertson (19) & John Grant (27).

Fujitsu’s Golf Ambassador, Jarryd Felton, played the full Australian Open Tournament and was extremely popular taking a drive for the groups on the tough 16th hole. Jody Fleming was testing the guest's skill by asking them to guess their ball speed. One of the most popular activities was the opportunity to win a $160,000 Maserati for a hole in one on the 15th hole...unfortunately Chris Bredenhann's shot that finished 2 metres from the hole was as close as we would get.

Thanks to Fujitsu’s partner sponsors of the day (Gold Sponsors - Symantec, Fujitsu Australia Software Technology (FAST), Dicker Data, Macquarie Group, Arrow & Optus. Silver Sponsor - Intel), those who donated prizes and all who attended and generously contributed to raising a massive $63,000 for Camp Quality and the work they do for children living with cancer.
