Fujitsu 14th Annual Charity Golf Day
The Lakes Golf Club was in amazing condition for the Fujitsu 14th Annual Charity Golf Day supporting Camp Quality. After a week of golf in strong winds and some amazing scores from the pros, we were somewhat lucky with the weather on the day. That said, the challenge of The Lakes layout meant the winning score on the day was 5 points less than the previous year.
In third place with 94 points was the team of Andrew Galligan, Miles Drury, Peter Klok & Peter Hewat, who after a slow start managed seven 6-pointer holes and one 7-pointer hole to storm home. The runners up were just one point ahead on 95 and enjoyed a quick start with a 7-pointer on their first hole of the day. Steady golf from there with only five 4-point holes took them to the second place finish. Well done to Phillip Tantsis, Martin Miller, David Singer & John McCarroll. The deserving winners on the day represented SoldierOn and included three war veterans. They scored 96 points and were very well received as they were presented with the winners prize. Congratulations to Tony Fraser (24), Ian McNeil (10), Jason Daniel (27) & Tony Dimitrieski (15), who managed to sneak over the line by only having four 4-point holes. There were many activities for the guests on course with Fujitsu Golf Ambassador Jarryd Felton hitting off on the tough 16th, Ashleigh Arnold managing the speed gun on the 3rd and Alizah Kendler managing the shot tracer on the 8th hole.
