ANZ Victorian Institutional Golf Day 2017 - The Metropolitan Golf Club
The ANZ Victorian Institutional Golf Day was held at the magnificent Metropolitan Golf Club under beautiful conditions. The course was perfect, with the lush fairways and the greens running at tournament speeds.
The competition on course was strong but one team managed to separate themselves from the rest of the field, despite being a three ball. A fantastic start to their round saw them reach nine under par through twelve holes. They couldn't keep that run going and eventually had a bogey and a birdie on their last six holes to finish at nine under. Congratulations to our winners, John Hudson, Peter Devitt & Michael Fox who had a nett 51.83. It was much closer when it came to the runner up position, with four teams within a shot. Just sneaking over the line with a nett 54.625 were Greg Dunston, Cameron Bridger, Tim Watkin & James Blythe.
The longest drives were won by Ryan Slucombe (0-20) and Gavin Marre (21+) and the nearest the pin's on the day were recorded by Robert Reilly (2nd) and Simon Bade (11th). Holing a monster 35ft putt to take out the putting competition was Daniel Bergamin - unfortunately his team mentioned he couldn't take the good form on course!
