ANZ NSW Institutional Golf Day 2018 - The Lakes Golf Club

The ANZ NSW Institutional Golf Day was held at the home of the 2018 Australian Open Golf Tournament, The Lakes Golf Club. A fantastic crowd were on hand to challenge themselves against the beautiful layout, the windy conditions and the other guests. 

Taking out the Low Gross prize was the team of John McNeil, Tom McNamara, Nick Cain & Nick Serra who finished with 64. It could have been so much better though after they started with a par and then followed up with eight straight birdies! Unfortunately, their great run came to an end when they played their last nine holes in even par. In second place with a nett 54.625 (just half a shot short of the winning score) was Jason Finlayson, Andrew Williams, David Boyer & Greg Denton. Starting on the difficult third hole, it took some time before they would hit their straps. But when they did, they completed the back nine in seven under par but they failed to get a birdie on their final two holes and had to settle for second place. The winners started steadily to be three under par through their first five holes, until a bogey struck and must have caused reason for concern. They were able to get things back on track, playing their last eleven holes in seven under par, including a great eagle on the 14th. Congratulations to Darren Dabkowski, Tim Pickles, Daniel Sullivan & Roy Zappia.
