2022 Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational - Royal Canberra

The Lexus of Canberra Golf Invitational was held at the beautiful Royal Canberra Golf Club under perfect conditions. As usual, all guests were in carts and it made for a relatively quick round as the heat started to set in late in the day. With a full field and perfect scoring conditions, scores were bound to be impressive.

Whilst the winners separated themselves from the rest of the field, there were six teams within half a shot of the runners up! They were off to a steady start and accelerated in the middle of their round with five birdies in seven holes, but with only one birdie on their last three holes, they would have to settle for third. Well played, Dom Darmody, Peter Kinnane, Andrew Chenery & Joel Dodds. The lucky runners up set the same 55.12 nett and also had a clean round with no bogeys and like all the teams on the podium, they took advantage of the charity hole with a hole in one! Well done, Robert Pantano, Damon Smith, Ralph Arranz & Anthony Fowlie. The winners had a great round and finished almost two shots ahead with nett 53.25. They were off to a fantastic start when they were eight under through eleven holes. That eventually came to an end with a bogey on the tough 14th, but still it was good enough for victory. Congratulations Anthony Stewart, Zac Beeten, Mike Perre & Trent Hill.

The on course charity event raised $7,540 for Ronald McDonald House, Canberra - thanks to all who contributed. Another $8,000 was raised at lunch via the raffle tickets, making an incredible $15,540 contribution from the guests. Ashleigh was on the 10th hole measuring the guest's 'smash factor'.
