2022 HLB Mann Judd Golf Day - Concord Golf Club
The 29th Annual HLB Mann Judd Golf Day was held at its traditional home, Concord Golf Club under wintery conditions after two false starts due to the poor weather in Sydney. The 2022 event would prove to be extremely close with a count back required to separate first from second and four teams within half a shot of third place.
In third place with a nett 58.37 were Todd Gammel, Phil Kerr, Dominic Calabria & Andrew Bolton who had an up and down round with four birdies and three bogeys to finish one under par. Just over a shot in front were the runners up of Prue Cheesman, Chris MacKenzie, Brian Fox & Warrick Oakes,who unfortunately missed out on the win by countback when they shot nett 57. They had a slow start to their round and were one over par through six holes, but thankfully four birdies in six holes got their round back on track and they almost took out the win. To indicate just how hard the course was playing compared with the Summer conditions, the winning score was almost five shots worse than the 2021 event and there was not one team to complete the round without a bogey. The winning team shot the lowest score of the day (67) and after a steady start they managed to find their groove and had three birdies in their last eight holes to take out the victory with nett 57.
