2021 Lexus of Sutherland Golf Invitational - Macquarie Links - 16th November

The Lexus of Sutherland Golf Invitational was held at Macquarie Links International Golf Club under clear skies. The perfect scoring conditions would mean teams would have to 'go low' to take out the main prize. And 'go low' they did, with one team shooting a fantastic 60, that included two eagles! Unfortunately, their low handicaps would mean they would not feature in the top three places.

The third placed team (that included three generations from one family) finished with nett 53.62 after a great round of 62 that included eight birdies and one eagle. Well played, Brett Poll, Rod Poll, Rodrick Poll & Gerry Fischl.  Just 0.25 of a shot better with nett 53.37 were the runner up team of Mikey Murray, Phil Gray, Roslyn Wilson & Allen Wilson who used their higher team handicap to jump over a few other teams after shooting a great round of seven under. The winners created Lexus history to be the first 'all female' team to win. They had a slow start with four straight pars until one of their players (Janelle Hoskins) stood up on the 5th hole and made a hole in one! That clearly inspired the team and they went on to record seven birdies in their next thirteen holes to finish with nett 52.62, just 0.75 ahead of second place. Congratulations to Bronwyn Tory (35), Jody Harvey (14), Trish Swan (15) & Janelle Hoskins (19).

The charity event on course raised $1,715 for the Sutherland Hospital, Children's Ward - thank you to all who contributed. Ashleigh was on the 17th tee hitting some tee shots for the guests as well as analysing their swing with Flightscope (see the videos below). 

Ten guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons and were able to go through their paces with two of the local pros. Congratulations to the winners below:
