2021 ANZ Sydney Golf Day - The Lakes Golf Club

The ANZ Sydney Golf Day took place at The Lakes Golf Club on a day that was good for ducks. That said, the 100% attendance showed everyone was keen to get out after months of lockdown. Even though there was light rain on and off, the calm, soft conditions meant scoring was bound to be good under the new Gentsomes format.

In the end, nine teams managed to score 100 points or more - considered a great score in this event. Third place went to Steve Barker, Nic Foster, Roni Perlov & Michael Laird with 103. They were the only team in the field to score a nine-pointer on a hole. This was, no doubt, thanks to Ashleigh's drive on the 14th hole that set them up for an eagle and a birdie. Unfortunately for them, they also scored 2 three-point holes and that meant they would have to settle for third place. The runners up finished with 105 points and had an extremely steady round with only 2 four-point holes. A strong finish with twenty points on their last three holes ensured a podium finish. Well played Jason Qi, Jon Newbery, Aaron Johansen & Richard Beament. The winners were challenged when they were only a three-ball team, but they certainly didn't let that effect their scoring as they went on to post 107 points. Some great golf saw them record 7 holes with seven or more points, whilst only recording 3 holes of four points or worse. All of that lead to a two shot victory - congratulations Geoff Walker, Lachlan MacPherson & Ryan Lorge.
