2019 Steve Waugh Foundation Grange@Forever Green Golf Day

The 5^th annual Steve Waugh Foundation Grange@Forever Green Golf Day was held at The Lakes Golf Club on May 30^th, raising crucial funds for children and young adults with rare diseases.

It was another spectacular day of golf with 20 Teams teeing off enjoying 18 holes of golf on a chilly day, followed by a gourmet food & wine tasting afternoon accompanied by Penfolds Grange and guided wine tasting experience courtesy of major event supporters Treasury Wine Estates.

On the golf side of things, scoring was extremely close with six teams within four shots of the winning score. A late charge from Alceon - 2 with an eight point final hole meant that two teams were left with 100 Stableford points. Both teams managed twelve holes with scores of six points or more but the eventual winners on a count back were the team from Linfox. For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - Download Full Results.

The golf opportunities continued off the course with Auction items including a spot for a group of 3 in the NSW Open Golf Pro AM courtesy of AVJennings; a 2 day exclusive golf coaching experience for 4 in Melbourne with the one of the World’s most successful coaches Steve Bann; and a PING Golf Package including a bag and set of clubs from American Golf Supplies.

A major motivation behind the Steve Waugh Foundation is that “no one should have to stand alone; everyone needs a team to support them”.

A corporate event for Steve Waugh’s Foundation Partners & Commercial Networks, the day is always a quality group of business leaders, sporting people, and like minds passionately giving to the cause.

Funds raised on the day will go directly to life changing Individual Grants for medicine, specialised equipment, treatment and items that improve the quality of life for a child affected by a rare disease. The only Foundation of its kind in Australia, Steve Waugh and the Team are there for the children and families who face the challenges of a rare disease with ‘strength of character’ every day.

Next year’s date for Grange@Forever Green Golf Day is Thursday May 28^th 2020 returning to The Lakes Golf Club.
