2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience - Royal Melbourne Golf Club

The Lexus Melbourne Cup experience kicked off at the home of the 2019 President's Cup, The Royal Melbourne Golf Club. The enthusiasm of the guests was evident as they received their gift pack and settled in to some lunch on arrival. Unfortunately the weather didn't quite have the same enthusiasm, with passing showers constantly interrupting the players on course. 

As you can imagine, the course was in fantastic condition and to assist the guests on the way round we had newly appointed Lexus Golf Ambassador, Dimi Papadatos. Ashleigh Arnold was also on hand to play shots with the teams, meaning scoring was bound to be fairly good. The runners up were off to a slow start and were actually well out of contention at one over par after 14 holes. This all changed when they finished with four straight birdies to post nett 57.75. Well played to Casey Lee, Stella Lee, Brian Pilbeam & Ephrem Pilbeam. In contrast, our winners were never really troubled with three birdies in their first five holes to shoot to the top of the leaderboard. That trend continued and saw them standing on the 18th tee at seven under par. Unfortunately for them, they would bogey their final hole. In the end that had no influence on the result as they ran away with the victory by just over two shots with nett 55.5. Congratulations to John Karren - Lexus Chatswood (4), Fiona Karren - Lexus Chatswood (27), Paul Keen - Lexus Chatswood (27) & Ken Hover - Lexus US Guest (26).
