2019 MBS Insurance Golf Day - The Australian Golf Club

The MBS Insurance Golf Day took place at the spectacular Australian Golf Club under perfect conditions. Guests were greeted to a new format this year, that meant more golf for all. Without any real understanding of what score would be required to win the event, everyone headed out full of anticipation. 

In the end it was extremely close, with six teams within four shots of the winning score. For the full results, please click on the button below - 'Download All Results'. In third place on a count back (53 points on the back 9) with 106 points was the team of Chris MacKenzie, Martin Fowler, Andrew Dodwell & Trent Doughty. They managed just three holes during the round where they scored four points and five holes where they scored seven points. The runners up were just one shot shy of the winning score with 108 and played the most consistent round of the day with sixteen holes of six points or better. Well done to Scott Kelly, Jeremy Hoffman, Evan Miller & Ed Bassingthwaighte. In the end the win (for the first time in 11 years) went to the team with Founding Partner, Kris Mason...meaning this new format will no doubt be etched in stone for future MBS golf days! Kris and his fellow players combined for a score of 109 and managed to make their way around the course with only one four point hole. This, with the fact they had three seven point holes and two eight point holes was enough to win, despite the scare on the eighteenth when they had to take one team member's last tee shot and only finished with a five pointer. Congratulations to Kris Mason (10), Tim Bailey (14), Craig Hughes (22) & Nick Hewson (27).
