2019 Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational - Rockhampton Golf Club

The annual Lexus of Rockhampton Golf Invitational took place at Rockhampton Golf Club and the record crowd were treated to perfect conditions. An increase in prize money for the tournament later in the week, meant the pros were more eager than normal to test their skills on the course.

One team managed to set a score never seen at a Lexus event - 17 under par...and still, they would only go on to win by 0.1 of a shot! In fact, there were three teams within one shot of the winning score. In third place was the team of Brett Rankin, Russell Coombes, Joy Coombes, Scott Donaldson & Loretta Donaldson, who after a par, par start must not have known what as in store as they played the last sixteen holes in fourteen under to finish with a nett 51.1. The runners up had a decent handicap to work with but still managed a stretch of five birdies in a row midway through their round and in the end were unlucky to miss out by just 0.1 of a shot. Well done to Terry Price, John Jenkins, Debbie Jenkins, Anne Bishop & Madonna Harris who finished with nett 50.4. The winners simply had the most extraordinary round and were fifteen under par through their first fourteen holes. If not for a couple of late pars no one in the field would have come close. That said, they were the lowest handicapped team and needed to make birdies to lift the trophy. Congratulations to the winners, Luke Paroz (Pro), Ty Christison (6), Douglas Christison (17), Luke Harris (6) & Charlie Harris (18) who shot seventeen under par to finish with nett 50.3. For the full results from the day, please click on the button below - Download Full Results.

Congratulations must also go to Doug Cridland who had his first ever hole in one on the 15th hole!

The charity event on course raised $1,120 for the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service - thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 1st - see below for a collection of shots:

Fifteen guests also enjoyed the beginner golf lessons with two golf professionals. Congratulations to the following winners:

Putting Winner - Paul Housman

Putting Runner Up - Terry Elliott

Chipping Winner - Trevor Neilsen

Chipping Runner Up - Garry Sinclair
