2019 Lexus of Port Macquarie Golf Invitational - Port Macquarie Golf Club

The Lexus of Port Macquarie Golf Invitational was held at Port Macquarie Golf Club. Thankfully the forecast rain did not arrive until well after the event, allowing for Lexus owners and guests to 'experience amazing'. 

Scoring was extremely close, with four teams within a couple of shots of each other when the score cards were handed in. Things didn't change too much when the handicaps were calculated either! In third place with a nett 57 were Michael Pring, David Anderson, Ian Anderson & Allen Anderson, who started strongly to be five under through their first eleven holes. Unfortunately they couldn't get any more birdies and they would have to be happy with third. The runners up were also off to a good start to be three under through eight holes and if it wasn't for two bogeys on their way home, it could have been a very different story. Well done to David Bailey, Darren Stephen, Rod Fussell, Barry Walls & Lloyd Beeby who finished with nett 56.7.  The winners had a bogey and five birdies in their first nine holes, but must have been nervous when they had nine straight pars to finish their round. However, with their handicap combination they were good enough to win by just over a shot with a nett 55.5. The charity event on course raised $450 for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 1st - see below for a collection of shots (including a Lexus record smash factor of 1.54!).

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Bill Cumberland, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
