2019 Lexus of Hobart Golf Invitational - Royal Hobart Golf Club

The Lexus of Hobart Golf Invitational was held at the beautiful Royal Hobart Golf Club under fine conditions. Guest numbers were fantastic with 16 teams heading out to see just who would claim top spot. 

In the end, there was less than a shot separating the top three teams. In third place with a nett 58.375 were Tim Johns, Duncan Hurd, Trevor Oakley & Chris McKibben who started strongly to be three under after six holes. Their momentum slowed a little after that and they could only manage two more birdies for the rest of the round to finish with 67. Just 1/8th of a shot in front were our runners up, who finished with nett 58.25. Their round was up and down with three birdies and three bogeys until they drew a Royal Flush on the charity hole and claimed a hole in one. Well done to Paul Lowry, Rob Griffith, Ron Walker and Lot Bosveld...and thanks for your donation! The winners had the lowest score of the day with 65, but must have thought of going even lower after they had seven birdies in their first ten holes. Alas, they could not find another birdie in their last eight holes but they still managed to hold on for the win with a nett 57.625. Congratulations to Ian Rankin, Craig Radin, Andrew Hey & Greg Mathews.

The charity event on course raised $1,010 for Variety - thank you to all who contributed. We also had the 'smash factor' hole on the 13th - see below for all the shots (including our winners smash factor of 1.53!).

The opportunity for one Lexus owner to attend the Lexus Melbourne Cup was drawn at the end of the day. Congratulations to Ross Tatnell, who will have the opportunity to play Royal Melbourne Golf Club followed by a day at the races in the Lexus Design Pavilion for the running of the Lexus Melbourne Cup.
