2018 Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience - Royal Melbourne Golf Club

The Lexus Melbourne Cup Experience was hosted at the magnificent Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Australia's number one ranked golf course. Thankfully the dire forecast never quite eventuated and the guests were able to enjoy themselves without the aid of an umbrella.

The hard and fast course always proves hard to master, however a number of teams managed to post some great scores. In third place with a nett 57.125 was Steve Gent, Rohan Gent, Tony Arlidge & Peter Hannaford who had three birdies in their first six holes to jump to the lead. Unfortunately for them, they were only able to muster one other birdie for the day and when they threw in a bogey as well, they would have to settle for third place. The runners up were unlucky to miss out by just 0.5 of a shot and must be ruing the two bogeys and double bogey that were scattered around their six birdies. Well done to Malcolm Taylor, Anne Bunt, Lindsay Freeman & Robyn Greenhalgh who finished with nett 56. The winners on the day couldn't have started any worse, with a bogey, bogey start and surely they couldn't foreseen the great run they were about to have when they went nine under par for an eleven hole stretch! Congratulations to the winners of the Melbourne Cup Experience with a nett 55.5 - Garry Grant, Rick Niven, Tony Arlidge & Peter Hannaford.
